About StreetStore

StreetStore aims to provide underprivileged people with a dignified shopping experience. This is done by setting up a ‘store’ in a disadvantaged area on a selected day and distributing clothes, thus giving to the less fortunate and emulating a spirit of compassion and sharing. It is made sure that the clothes donated are washed, ironed, folded and put into separate bags. These ‘stores’ also include recreational activities for children including face painting and games. The following procedures take place in order to get StreetStore started:

Collecting Donations

Our volunteers gather donations from donors and store them at our storerooms.

Processing Donations

All volunteers gather at a place where they Segregate the clothing, Wash them, Iron them, Package them and store them processed in our storerooms.

Location Survey

A group of team leaders head out to search for locations where there are large number of people in need of donations.

Distribution

Once surveyed and decided, our teams of volunteers travel to the location and set up a pop-up store, putting the packaged clothing on display and inviting those in need to help themselves get what they need, in a dignified manner.
